Unwind and relax with our Yin Yoga classes at Yoga by the Sea. This gentle-paced style of yoga focuses on deep stretching and relaxation, making it perfect for all levels. This class provides a unique opportunity to release deep-seated tension and improve our joint health through gentle, prolonged stretches. Yin yoga focuses on the body's connective tissues - such as fascia, tendons and ligaments - that play a crucial role in supporting and stabilising our muscles and joints. It invites us to slow down and focuses on holding postures for some time, allowing the body to gradually ease into a deep state of relaxation and more flexibility. This prolonged stillness allows the body to gradually soften and the mind to quiet, creating a meditative experience that promotes both physical and emotional ease. As we age, or lead sedentary lifestyles, our connective tissue can lose elasticity, leading to stiffness and limited mobility. Yin Yoga addresses this by slowly loading these tissues and maintaining static holds, which help to increase flexibility and strengthen the ligaments and fascia supporting our joints. This practice not only enhances your range of motion in daily activities, but complements more active 'Yang' practices, sports and activities by creating gentle space for muscles to lengthen and joints to move more freely. If you have booked a class and are unable to attend, you can transfer to another class of the same or lower value up to 24hrs before the class. Cancellations or rescheduled sessions must be done more than 24 hours in advance.
