About Breathe

Breathe Yoga & Wellness is a warm, welcoming studio on the South Devon coast, offering mindful, breath-led, and trauma-sensitive yoga for real people with real bodies. Our approach blends the wisdom of traditional yoga with modern nervous-system science - supporting strength, mobility, balance, emotional resilience, and inner steadiness.

Classes are designed to be accessible and enriching for all, whether you’re taking your very first class, returning after time away, or have practised for years and now wish to explore a more holistic, embodied, or therapeutic approach to yoga.

We focus on quality of movement, healthy breathing patterns, and gentle awareness, helping you cultivate flexibility, balance, and calm from the inside out.

At Breathe, you’ll find no competition, comparison, or performance - just kind attention, gradual progression, and space to move at your own pace. Our students range from younger bodies seeking ease and focus, to older bodies seeking stability, strength, and nervous-system support - and from curious newcomers to long-time practitioners deepening their connection to yoga beyond the physical. All are welcome.

Beyond movement, our classes integrate breathwork, meditation, and Yoga Nidra - practices that soothe the effects of stress, improve sleep, and nurture emotional clarity and ease. Yoga Nidra, sometimes called 'yogic sleep,' is a guided meditation that invites deep rest while awareness remains awake - supporting recovery, balance, and self-connection.

At the heart of our work is a simple intention:To make yoga accessible and meaningful for as many people as possible. Through my own experience and in guiding others, I’ve seen that yoga truly has something to offer everybody who is receptive to it. It’s about taking back ownership of your physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing — maintaining balance and vitality, rather than waiting for something to go wrong to begin healing.

Yoga in the West is often viewed mainly through its postures - but it is so much more. Real yoga meets you exactly where you are - on the mat, in stillness, and in how you live your daily life with greater ease and awareness.

Your Guide, Tina

Before teaching full-time, I worked in HR and regional management across financial services, public service, and manufacturing - fast-paced, demanding environments that taught me first-hand how stress and imbalance affect the body and mind. I also co-ran a family business with my husband in the financial sector.

Over ten years ago, during a time of overwhelm, I turned to meditation to find calm and clarity. A daily practice soon transformed how I felt - more centred, more resilient, more at ease. Yoga followed naturally, supporting my physical strength and flexibility while deepening my emotional steadiness and self-awareness.

I didn’t discover yoga and meditation until I was nearly 50, yet I am now stronger, more flexible, and more content than ever. I know this comes from regular practice - and from embracing yoga as a lifelong path of self-study, healing, and personal growth.

My own journey has included working through layers of conditioning, beliefs, and emotional memory - using tools such as meditation, journalling, and EFT tapping to bring unconscious patterns into light and transform them. When we meet ourselves with awareness, we reclaim our freedom and live with greater authenticity and ease.

In 2021, I experienced Long Covid, which taught me the power of pacing and gentleness. My practice became soft and adaptive - guided by breath, compassion, and curiosity. Over time, this steady approach supported my recovery and deepened my understanding of how yoga serves the body at every stage of energy and ability.

I am also a certified EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) practitioner and integrate tapping, breathwork, and nervous-system regulation into sessions when appropriate - helping students release tension, develop emotional resilience, and gently reconnect with their bodies.

My teaching is grounded, inclusive, and heart-centred - weaving mindful movement, breath awareness, meditation, EFT, and yogic philosophy to help students build strength, spaciousness, and self-understanding. Whether you’re seeking calm, physical recovery, or deeper spiritual exploration, you’ll be met with warmth, integrity, and a practice that honours exactly where you are today.
